For CPA firms
State registrations, filed behind your firm.
Your client hires in a second state or winds one down, and somebody has to open or close the accounts. We do that filing work behind your firm: you send the state and the trigger, we file and chase the agency, and the written confirmation comes back to you. Your client stays yours.
Step 1
You send the state and the trigger
An email with the client's legal name, the state or states, and what happened: a remote hire, a marketplace expansion, a wind-down. For a closure, the last payroll or sale date and any account numbers you have. No spreadsheet covering every state and every scenario; our intake asks only about the states on the order, and anything the client cannot answer becomes a task on our side instead of a blocker.
Step 2
We file, you stay the advisor
We work out which agencies hold accounts in that state, prepare each application or cancellation, file it, and chase the agency until it confirms in writing. We never contact your client unless you ask us to, and nothing we send carries advice: whether the client has nexus, which entity type fits, or whether to register at all stays your call, and we say so in writing when a client asks us.
Step 3
The evidence comes back to you
Account numbers, rates, and deposit schedules for a registration; the written closure confirmation for a cancellation. An order is complete when the evidence exists, not when a form was submitted, and you get the paper either way, so your file shows the job finished.
What firms ask first
Why hand this work off at all?
Because it is high-friction, low-margin work that interrupts the work you bill for. A multi-state registration project is portal accounts, agency phone queues, and follow-up calls. We do that part all day; you keep the advisory relationship and the return work that follows it.
Will Regcrest give our client tax advice?
No. We are a document preparation and filing service, not a CPA firm or law firm. When a client asks us a determination question, whether they have nexus, whether a product is taxable, what effective date to use, we hand it back to you in one sentence and keep going with the filing.
Who does the work?
A senior filing specialist who has processed these multi-state registrations and closures in all 50 states. Every order is fulfilled by that specialist, not a queue of juniors.
How do we start?
Send one filing through the contact page and judge the result. Most firms start with the registration or closure that has been sitting in somebody's follow-up folder for a month.
About the provider
Regcrest LLC is a document preparation and filing service based in Allentown, Pennsylvania, founded in 2026. It prepares and files state payroll and sales tax registrations, account closures, and resale certificates on behalf of the businesses that instruct it, and works behind accounting firms, bookkeepers, and payroll providers as well as directly with businesses.
Regcrest LLC is not a CPA firm and not a law firm. It gives no tax or legal advice. It files in all 50 states, and publishes a full page for the 29states it has verified against the agency's own material so far, each one showing the date it was checked. For anything that turns on your specific situation, ask a licensed accountant or attorney.
