How We Protect Your Information
Some state registrations require a Social Security number. Handing that to a company you have just met is a fair thing to hesitate over. Here is exactly what happens to it.
We only ask for what your state's form requires.
Some state registrations require a Social Security number for every owner, partner, or responsible officer. Others do not ask at all. Your form is built from the states on your order, so you are only asked the questions those states actually require. If a state does not ask, neither do we.
Sensitive answers are encrypted before they are stored.
Social Security numbers, EINs, and dates of birth are encrypted with AES-256-GCM on our server, then written to the database already encrypted. They are never stored as readable text at any point.
The database refuses to store them any other way.
This is not a policy we follow carefully. It is a rule inside the database itself. If a Social Security number were ever sent as plain text, the write is rejected and nothing is saved. A mistake in our own code cannot get around it.
Our staff cannot type your Social Security number in for you.
A sensitive answer can only come from you, on your own form. If a member of our team tries to fill one in, the database refuses the change. So there is no path where your number sits in someone's notes, inbox, or spreadsheet.
After you submit, we see the last four digits.
Once your answers are in, sensitive fields are masked everywhere in our system except the single screen used to prepare your filing. Day to day, our team sees the last four digits and nothing more.
Your link expires, and we do not store it.
The link we send you is what opens your form. It has an expiry date, we can switch it off at any time, and we store only a scrambled fingerprint of it, never the link itself. If you would like a fresh link, ask and we will send one.
We destroy sensitive answers 90 days after your order is finished.
Ninety days after your order completes, the encrypted Social Security numbers and other sensitive answers are destroyed. Not archived. The rest of your record, such as the states you registered in and the confirmations we filed, stays so we can help you next time.
Coming back is easier, and still yours to control.
If you order again, your form arrives already filled in from last time so you are editing instead of retyping. That copy is covered by the same 90-day clock, measured from your most recent completed order.
One senior specialist handles your file.
Your filing is prepared by the same senior specialist with 15 years of document processing and compliance experience across all 50 states. Your information is not passed around a team or sent offshore for data entry.
Everything moves over an encrypted connection.
The whole site, including your form, runs over HTTPS. Our database is hosted in the United States and access is restricted per record, so a request can only reach the order it belongs to.
What to do if something looks wrong.
If a link does not work, arrives when you were not expecting it, or asks for something that seems out of place, do not use it. Contact us and we will confirm whether it came from us and send a new one.
This page describes how we handle your information. It is not legal or tax advice, and we are not a law firm. Whether a particular filing requires a Social Security number is set by each state agency, not by us. See our Privacy Policy for how the rest of your information is handled.
