Virginia closes accounts on Form R-3, wants Form VA-6 within 30 days of your last month of wages, and expects you to call and confirm after seven business days. We do all three.

Virginia lets you close the sales tax account with a checkbox on the return. Note the ST-9 was replaced by the ST-1 from the April 2025 period, and amendments still use the old form.
